About Emily's harps

Emily performs on two different types of harps: the pedal harp, and the lever harp. Emily's pedal harp is a Venus Premier semi-grand. The pedal harp is an instrument you would typically find in an orchestral setting. It has seven pedals which allow the harpist to change the pitches of the strings, facilitating greater chromaticism.

Emily's second harp is the lever harp. She plays on a Dusty Strings FH-36B. This type of harp is also known as a folk harp, and is very conducive to playing folk music, such as traditional Irish and Scottish music. On this type of harp the harpist uses her hands to flip levers at the top of each string to change the pitch.
